Also, sorry for the insane amount of street noise. Loud church music and Brooklyn traffic were in full bloom in our neighborhood.

We watched "A Quiet Place" and it was aight.

"Grabbers" is a 2012 Irish horror-comedy about a small town that needs to stay drunk in order to fend off parasitic alien predators. It makes total sense in context, which is more than we can say for our lightweight disastrous recording session for this episode. Three words: DAD. MOTORCYCLE. GANG.

Lucky number 13 is all about "Ghostwatch", a BBC "news" special that aired on Halloween night, 1992. It's eerie, highly entertaining, and surprisingly tough to put into words. But, boy do we try. Also, Saoli would like to note that a) Peter Jennings died in 2005 and b) this is pretty indicative of when she last watched TV news.

To make up for our longest absence yet, us gals at WDKY are coming back in full force with a special double feature episode. We watched one classic and one "classic", both of which are horror comedies that have developed cult followings, each for entirely different reasons. Saoli and Darlena are kicking off 2018 with John Landis's beloved 1981 film, "An American Werewolf in London". And also "Jack Frost". Welcome back to the coven!

Your Halloween just got a little Halloween-er! In this special episode of WDKY, we talk about "The Shining" and how it's never too late to get help for a drinking problem. Well...until you try to murder your family with an ax. That's probably a good stopping point.

For Saoli's HalloweenMonth2k17 pick, we watched the extremely rape-y 1981 Japanese anime version of "Swan Lake". It's not so much a cute little romp as it is an allegory for sexual assault and the everlasting oppression of women. We also talk about Harvey Weinstein and the powerful sexual predator who's currently running the U.S. into the ground. And the talking squirrels! Yay!
