Very enjoyable

These speeches evoked so many emotions in me and Hillary Clinton's had me applauding!
This was a very well-put-together podcast and I recommend it to everyone, political or not, because these speeches are all about human rights and everyone should hear their analysis whether you admire the person giving the speech or not.

Fantastic

Don't expect to listen to full-lenght speeches. Take the single episodes as creative audioclips of a given political/historical/economic situation illustrated with great (or, at least, significant) speeches. And many many insightful comments and footnotes. It's cleverly cut. Thought-provoquingly colourful. Balanced? It tries to be so. I listened to the full series in two days and enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks again, Audible!

Powerful social history

Loved the idea of examining famous speeches - looking at the power and impact of the language in the context of the time the speeches were made. Excellent series, well worth the listen.

Everyone must know the stories behind the speeches

I really enjoyed this series. It breaks down the most important speeches that define our society. It's really fascinating to hear stories behind them and commentary of people who were there at that time.

Excellent and energetic

The subject material of the audiobook was always bound to be great as it covers some of the most influential speeches ever made. The background score is highly energetic and helps to both keep your attention and improve emotional engagement. The annotations to the speech are well researched and do a good job of providing the context within which the speeches were made.

The speech of Mary Fisher especially still retains it's haunting effect, especially when we are racked by another global pandemic.

Interesting

really good series, short sections that kept me interested. A review of our history that brings us to the present also views to our future. A outline of change that for most sections I have lived through.

Extremly interesting

This selection of stories opened my eyes to various things which happened in history. Many of these before I was born and they enlightened my knowledge of history.
