not a straight line

By: Peter Daly-Dickson
  • Summary

  • Each week, join your host, actor, producer, and former tech entrepreneur Peter Daly-Dickson, for a deep dive into the zig zag journeys through the lives of entrepreneurs and artists. And entrepreneurial artists! Together, we want to shatter the myth that it's ever too late to be who you want to be, and give you hope, inspiration and self-belief that the journey from where you are to where you want to get to is possible. It's just not a straight line! About your host: After 30+ years working first as an actor and then a career in IT culminating as the CEO of a software company, I walked away from everything at the end of 2021 close to burnout and in a poor state of mental health. I ended up driving luxury cars around the UK, delivering them to dealerships and customers, and relished the space it gave me to think and simply BE. 2.5 years later I've returned to the 22 year old Pete, sitting on the top deck of a bus wondering what his life would be like if he went to drama school, and reestablishing myself in a creative career as an actor and producer. Oh, and as a podcast host too!

  • The Hypnotherapist || The Author || The Change-Maker with Phil Dobson
    Dec 11 2024

Phil Dobson's journey took an unexpected turn when a broken ankle led him from a music-centered life to discovering his calling in clinical hypnotherapy. This pivotal moment sparked a deeper exploration into human potential and personal growth, challenging conventional wisdom about time management in favor of energy and attention management in our increasingly distracted world.

Drawing from his unique blend of experiences in music and therapy, Phil has developed compelling insights about creativity and learning. He highlights the disconnect between traditional education and creative development, advocating for structured approaches to problem-solving while maintaining creative flexibility. His adventures, including learning to surf, have reinforced his belief in the significance of first experiences and the importance of reframing failure as an essential part of growth.

Today, as a specialist in neuroscience-driven people development, Phil combines his diverse background to help others enhance their lives through improved attention and conscious development. His work focuses on teaching essential life skills and demonstrating how the principles of hypnotherapy, creative thinking, and focused attention can lead to improved productivity and overall well-being.
