During a stakeout with Cyrus, strange things begin to emerge. Black suns and oddly familiar children begin to show up. The Drake’s fingerprints seem to be on everything with which she’s involved.

A new future unfolds. After a harrowing escape from Urslay, the city of giants, Nath, Brenwar, and Selene find themselves in the sanctuary of the Elven Field of Dreams. The solitude and peace in the lush land offers refreshing waters but that does not last long. The wilder elves, guardians of the sanctuary, take Nath and company prisoner as he stands accused of murder. Bewildered by the accusation, Nath searches for the truth only to have Fang stolen while he lies abandoned in an inescapable prison.

Outside of the riverfront Drake Energy plant, Smoke and Sidney prepare themselves for the final showdown with Kane. It's all or nothing as they find themselves inside a hive full of countless shifting enemies, some new and some old, in a modern-day labyrinth full of surprises.

John Smoke is gone, and Sidney is determined to get him back at any cost. With the help of Sam and Guppy, her search leads her to a bizarre funeral home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Congressman Wilhelm is shot, and video evidence reveals John Smoke as the shooter. The manhunt for Smoke begins, and Sid's life is turned upside down trying to exonerate the man she thinks she loves.

Bounty hunter John Smoke has been at a loss ever since Sidney Shaw's abrupt departure. After weeks of finding no trace of her, Smoke has an unanticipated encounter with Reginald, the doppelganger. Smoke discovers that if he wants to see Sid again, he needs to perform a mission: hunt down and take out a rival criminal underworld called the Many.
