Story
I am constantly amazed – and somewhat bewildered – by the amount of Hollywood and indie produced films that seem to glorify and sensationalize serial killers. And even placing a romantic spin on low life dirt-bags like Ted Bundy is almost too much to bear. The man almost radiated evil like a supernova. What is even more strange is, while filmmakers continue to spew out films starring handsome, normal looking men {Ted Bundy was one of the only men to fit into this category} they seem to totally ignore some of the most prolific and vicious serial killers in history. Now don't get me wrong; I am not saying that I believe that any serial killer should be made famous for their crimes, gain celebrity status. But is has always left me totally confused as to why so many unheard of killers haven't shown up in popular media. Hell, some of these guys even have web sites dedicated to them, as well as a lot of loyal fans and followers of their crimes. Some of them even have 'groupies' who follow their favorite killer's every move, news articles, etc., in order to keep up with them. Some of these groupies have even married their favorite serial killer. Love is truly blind, I guess. After listening to this audiobook, maybe more people will not only have a more clear view into the mind of a serial killer, but may also be as mystified as I am as to why serial killers seem to be so prevalent in popular media.

Story
Fixer was sitting at his kitchen table, looking over old Polaroid photos of his son and daughter when they were kids. I have to fix this with Cheryl. The idea clamored for his attention. There is no one to blame for this stupidity but myself. I'll beg Cheryl’s mercy and forgiveness. I’ll go into treatment. I’ll join AA. He really did need a drink this time; hunting down a cold-hearted, remorseless, bloodthirsty man-eater like Spencer Carlin would be the biggest case of his career.

The call me the Fixer. I repair things. I’m usually a very easy going guy, believe it or not. But if you mess with me – or anyone I love, God forbid – I can be the nightmare you never want to have. I can haunt you in the midnight and come after you with an upraised scythe like the Grim Reaper. I can reach out and touch you no matter where you hide, whether you are a pedophile priest or a drug dealer or a wife beater or even the President of the United States.

Story
Spencer did what she does best. Kill. And she was nervous, but not from second guessing. She was nervous because this excited her. Murder excited her. Aroused her. Gave her a rush like nothing else in this world. And, after tonight, it was going to make her kind of famous. But could her lover, Ashley, carry the burden of Spencer's fame, play second fiddle to her new found wealth - and sleep with a murderess? This might be too complicated for Spencer to handle.

Story
The city streets are a carnival, it is burlesque. My senses are accelerated and I can hear the pain and the sin on every street corner. The city moves like an insect. It scurries. Neon beats against the windows like a probe, even in the day. The world around me continues to live and breathe, and as I watch sinners kiss, as I watch them gambol and dance, I am reminded of the fact that somewhere, buried deep within this crazy world, is Spencer - and Ashley, if she was still alive.

Story
After taking the little blue pill she'd offered him, the room began to blur it first began to spin. One second he was sitting at Spencer's side, and doing all he could to keep his vibrating nerves in check, and then everything began to lose its cohesive form. He tried to pretend like he was all right; the interaction of unknown drugs and alcohol was nothing to him. He knew there had to be a devil in this story, and as the world around him started to spin he knew that said devil had arrived....

Story
Katie Elder was more, much more, than the title character in John Wayne's 1965 western,The Sons of Katie Elder. She was more than the portrayal by Faye Dunaway in the 1971 film, Doc." Katie Elder was a real person, whose background was perhaps more plaid than checkered. Some historians of the Old West believe she was Mrs. Doc Holliday, and some don't. Either way, she was quite a bit more than the "plainswoman" that revisionist history books call her.

Story
According to the American Heritage dictionary, a serial killer is "a person who attacks and kills victims one by one in a series of incidents." In this audiobook, I examine quite a few serial killers and what I refer to as "fledgling serial killers," in order to give the listener a bird's eye view into the killer's past, which most vary in some way or another, to possibly understand why these men and women become the monsters they do. Will we ever really understand the serial killer? Now that, my friends, is a question for the ages.

Story
Brother Blood lives in a place where shadows come out after the sun goes down, and they don't come out to play. There are old folks in his building that draw social security checks that eat dog food and winos mark their territory like dogs, pissing in the stairwells. A scream from that building is routinely dismissed as anxiety. And a majority of the folks that lived there were white. As Brother Blood sat at his window looking down on the streets below, he couldn't help but wonder, is there any justice?

Story
Charles Manson was known as prophet, a singer, a messiah - and then a mass murderer. But what the public didn't know was that behind the façade he so cleverly conveyed to his followers - and victims - was a little boy in a man's body, one who had never known a loving touch or a sincere hug or a tender kiss. Abused as a child, Charlie was passed around by his mother's boyfriends, who performed licentious acts upon him to further his education in the cold, cruel ways of the world that awaited him in manhood.

In The Dead Girls, author Brian Lee Tucker examines the lives of six different women who, having lived on the streets for far too long, have now been pushed over the edge of sanity - and have finally become what they themselves had always feared the most. Among them is Donna, the fledgling serial killer who, born with a facial deformity that made her a social outcast, now peels the faces off of beautiful girls to wear as her own; and Gina, a barfly whose tendency to be promiscuous has led her into the lair of a murderous Picasso....

Story
Dean Corll was an electrician for Houston Power and Light, but most of Henley's friends knew him as the Candy Man, so named because he had labored for years in the candy manufacturing plant that he and his mother had once owned. Corll was famous for giving away candy to the kids. Little did they know that "the Candy Man of Houston" was in fact a sadistic, cruel, remorseless rapist and murderer. Between September 25, 1970 and August 3, 1973, Corll killed at least 28 young men and boys, and the actual number of victims may have been more than 30.
