Patrick and his twin sister, Katie, are shocked to find someone threw a brick through the stained-glass window of St. Francis of Assisi at St. Anne's. Who would do such a thing? Before they can investigate, Patrick is swept into another adventure-to the town of Assisi, Italy, in the year 1205.

If there is one thing Katie never thought she would do, it was walk through something called the "Door of the Dead." During a class field trip to visit the monastery of the Poor Clares, Katie is unexpectedly swept up into her next Chime Travelers adventure.
