On his nineteenth birthday, Leland Silver was offered a portion of a Lord's power. The only issue… it was from a Lord no one had ever heard of—the Lord of Curses. Teamed with his two best friends—a Legacy of the Berserker and a Legacy of the Chameleon—Leland must learn quickly if he wishes to get anywhere in this newly opened world. Together, the trio will lead a relatively normal young adult life: protecting caravans, killing mana-lions, learning to play the harmonica, and forging contracts with gods.

Halted in advancing his legacy, Leland wants nothing more than to sit down and figure things out. Unfortunately for him, fate had other plans. Together with his two best friends, the journey continues and many more questions are raised. Just who is the Lord of Curses and why do some cower at her title of The Calamity? Why is the Huntress still following them? Why do animals like Jude so much? Is it the harmonica playing? And of course, the age-old question of who would win, the bear or the poacher?
