Lance Gedrin

Heavyweight boxing champ Lance Gedrin is breathing clean air again after spending the last 12 years at Pontiac Correctional Center. He has a new lease on life, so he creates a bucket list and vows to travel the world. Stop one is the Idaho Potato Museum. Stop two is supposed to be the Space Needle, but he never makes it. Gedrin’s lawyer, Gertrude Stevenson, goes missing, making national headlines. Gedrin wants answers. The only way to get them is to go back to the place where he lost his freedom a dozen years ago: The Windy City.

Lance Gedrin is back. He’s moved on from the havoc in Chicago and is taking in the sun at the Oregon Zoo. Gedrin’s comeback fight is in two days. Win and he’s the number-one contender for the heavyweight title. Lose and Sal’s gym needs its old janitor back. As Gedrin tours the zoo, he sees a crowd gathered around one of the exhibits. And they’re not taking pictures. Gedrin finds his cutman stabbed. Gedrin gets the message. Somebody is mowing down his cornermen right before the biggest fight of his career. Gedrin wants answers. But he gets in the ring in 48 hours.

Lance Gedrin is in New Mexico playing golf for the first time in years. He’s enjoying the scenery, and he’s lighting up the scorecard. Then his ball hits something on the green and everything changes. A watch. His dad’s watch. The same watch he saw buried at his mom’s funeral. Gedrin goes on a mission to find out who left the watch for him and why. But there’s some New Mexico hombres who don’t take too kindly to strangers sleuthing in their town.
