Marshmallow the Magic Cat Adventures Series

Meet Avry, a super-special, sensitive little girl who finds her best friend at the local animal shelter. Avry lives in a beautiful farmhouse and loves being close to nature. She’s a little quirky, with a touch of hypersensitivity, and has an incredibly active imagination with a magical view of the world. Avry’s story begins when she goes to the local animal shelter to adopt her first pet. She comes across a bright orange cat with a twinkle of magic in his vivid green eyes. Avry knew in an instant that they belonged together. This magical kitty introduced himself as Marshmallow.

In book 3 in the Marshmallow Adventure series, we get to introduce Atreus, one of Avry’s cousins who is visiting from China for Christmas. In this delightful Christmas tale, the cousins receive a mysterious message from a magical raven at the farmhouse telling them to save Christmas.  

Stefan wants to get Avry the most perfect, most thoughtful, and most unique birthday gift—something special that you can’t find in a store, something really, truly magical. Something that can only be found in a magical forest. Stefan decides to ignore the warnings about a magical troll that lives in the woods and ends up being captured! Avry, Marshmallow the Magical Cat, and Shadow the Dog must go on a quest to help rescue him. Throughout the story, they learn that courage and fear can go hand in hand and that the power of love and friendship is strong enough to inspire action. 

Marshmallow is lonely and upset when Avry takes an afterschool job babysitting the neighbors' boys. To teach her a lesson, he decides to go into town so he isn’t home when she gets back from her job. In town, Marshmallow finds a yarn store full of magnificent colors. He falls asleep in a barrel of yarn, dreaming of all the bright colors. When he wakes up and goes outside he realizes his dream has caused the whole town to change colors. 

Avry and her magic cat, Marshmallow, live in a crooked farmhouse with her parents. One day, a stray kitten shows up. It’s skinny, hungry, and dirty. Avry brings it to her mama, who says she can keep it. Marshmallow isn’t happy. He doesn’t want a little sister. He wants Avry and her love all to himself. Will Marshmallow accept the kitten or will he try to get rid of her? Find out if there really is enough love to go around.

Avry is struggling. The kids at school are teasing her and she feels very anxious. Marshmallow, her magic cat, calls Nana, who takes Avry on a vacation to the hot springs. Their trip is full of adventures and they meet wonderful creatures, including unicorns, garden trolls, fairies, and baby dragons. They see a soccer game with sheep and bears. They even get lost! Avry learns how to conquer her fear of tunnels and how to relax in a world that sometimes feels too big for her. Avry and Marshmallow make a choice to climb a large tree. With a fall comes a broken arm and a trip to the hospital. X-ray machines and IV machines talk. Fairies help everywhere and a parade of animals fills the hospital stay with cheerful chaos. Marshmallow plays trusty friend and sidekick. Avry learns how helpful a hospital can be and returns home to find friends waiting for her.
