Soseki Natsume's comic masterpiece, I Am a Cat, satirizes the foolishness of upper-middle class Japanese society during the Meiji era. With acerbic wit and sardonic perspective, it follows the whimsical adventures of a world-weary stray kitten who comments on the follies and foibles of the people around him. A classic of Japanese literature, I Am a Cat is one of Soseki's best-known novels. Considered by many as the greatest writer in modern Japanese history, Soseki's I Am a Cat is a classic novel sure to be enjoyed for years to come.

Lydia is hungry. She's always wanted to try sashimi, ramen, onigiri with sour plum stuffed inside—the food her Japanese father liked to eat. And then there is bubble tea and the vegetables grown by the other young artists at the London studio space she is secretly squatting in. But Lydia can't eat any of this. The only thing she can digest is blood, and it turns out that sourcing fresh pigs' blood in London—where she is living away from her vampire mother for the first time—is much more difficult than she'd anticipated.

Tiller is an average American college student with a good heart but minimal aspirations. Pong Lou is a larger-than-life, wildly creative Chinese American entrepreneur who sees something intriguing in Tiller beyond his bored exterior and takes him under his wing. When Pong brings him along on a boisterous trip across Asia, Tiller is catapulted from ordinary young man to talented protégé, and pulled into a series of ever more extreme and eye-opening experiences that transform his view of the world, of Pong, and of himself. 

戦前に刊行された落語の速記本の中で、ヒッソリと眠っていたネタです。恐らく、昔の寄席では、時間が短く、オチも優れている落語が、重宝されたのでしょう。

世間では、知らない間に犯罪へ巻き込まれている場合もあります。それは昔も今も変わらないようで、前世からの因縁と諦めなければならないのかも知れません。

東京落語は、「磯の鮑」という演題で、昔から時折、高座へ掛けられていましたが、上方落語では、珍品の一つに数えられています。

日本絵画の絵師土佐光信が描いた「雁風呂」が様々な人を巻き込み、信じられない展開となりますが、「結果として、これでいいのではないか」と思えるのは、噺の気品がなせる業と言えるのではないでしょうか。

東京落語では、「錦の袈裟」という演題で、寄席や落語会で頻繁に上演されますが、上方落語では、珍品の一つに数えられています。

「伽羅の下駄」という落語は二種類ありますが、今回のネタは、長編の方です。伽羅と言えば、香木の最高級品。伽羅で下駄を拵えると、一体、どれぐらいの値打ちがあるのでしょうか。

打飼は、鉄砲の薬莢（やっきょう）入れで、ポーチのような使い方をしていたみたいです。東京落語に移植され、「夏泥」という演題になりました。最近、上演する噺家が増えたネタの一つと言えましょう。

戦後、貴重な落語を後輩に伝えた、初代橘ノ圓都が十八番にしていた落語です。浄瑠璃好きだっただけに、浄瑠璃の出て来るネタを好んで上演したことで、辛うじて、この落語も伝えられました。

元来、東京落語ですが、「上方落語の直しても、成り立つ」と考え、上演するようになりました。秋になると、東京目黒で、「目黒のさんま祭り」が催される程、東京では馴染み深い落語です。

第二次世界大戦前に刊行された速記本に掲載されていますが、長年、高座で上演する者は居ませんでした。

上方落語の名人二代目桂三木助から、東京落語の八代目林家正蔵が習い、再び、上方落語の先代（三代目）桂文我に教えたという、上方と東京を行きつ戻りつした、ユニークなネタです。

昔の速記本へ掲載されている短編ですが、かなり面白い！浄瑠璃が流行った時代、どのようなウケ方をしていたのか、見たいものです。決して、滅んでしまうネタではないと思いますが、如何でしょうか？

落語の世界で大活躍するのが、丁稚の存在。可愛い上、悪智慧も働く子どもだけに、一筋縄では行きません。「月並丁稚」「近江屋丁稚」「正月丁稚」等、落語の演題になっていることも多いのです。

桜をテーマにした落語は数多くありますが、梅になると激減します。しかし、梅の出て来るネタは、良い香りまで漂い、上品な雰囲気に包まれているように感じるのが、とても不思議。

巧妙な手段で、一大事を収めるという、落語的トリックを楽しんでいただきます。

戦後は、六代目笑福亭松鶴が思い出したように上演したぐらいで、極めて珍しい落語と言えましょう。寺を舞台にしたネタも数多くありますが、コント性抜群と言えば、この落語ではないでしょうか。

東京落語では、「大工調べ」という演題。寄席や落語会で頻繁に上演されていますが、上方落語では、珍品扱いになっています。大抵、前半だけの上演。さて、今回は如何でしょうか？
