About this listen
She's in for the fight of her life with the man who only wants to be her lover.
Fighter Mia Anderson has faced the dark side of life and survived. But just getting by is no longer enough. To fund her new life with her baby sister, she's determined to beat the reigning king of the male fighters in New York's underground MMA circuit, Tray "Fox" Knox.
Tray refuses to fight a woman, until he learns Mia's tougher than anyone he has ever known. He soon realizes he wants more from her than blows and blood, and he's willing to hit below the belt to get it. He'll fight her, but if he wins, she spends the night in his bed. All night long, his rules. No tapping out.
Mia agrees, certain that he'll lose. What she doesn't realize is that Tray loves to fight dirty and that this match may end up being the most important one of their lives.

A tough leading lady!
Fantastic!
I do love a strong woman who shows a little vulnerability. Great writing skills from Cari to get the right balance. Great performance from both Kai and Wen.

Sports romance, MMA fights
I loved this book. Mia is one tuff woman, I wouldn’t mess with her lol. I love the characters in this book. Tray is a perfect H and her sister cracks me up. The narration is fabulous, they are a dynamic duo, I love everything they narrate. (Trigger warning: past abduction issues) I definitely recommend this book. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Emotionally Intense
Shadowboxer is beautifully written with a cast of compelling characters. The book is a standalone and no cliffhanger; however, it hints at future follow-up books.
The storyline is compelling, a tale of survival, guilt, recovery, and the power of love. The main characters are both MMA fighters, they're complicated, intriguing, thrillseekers, with depth and vulnerabilities. The intimate scenes are scorching but not focal to the plot.
The dynamic duo, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross perform splendidly. Both narrators give life to the characters and the passions and emotions found in the story. I strongly recommend this audiobook.

Ring of Fire
So well narrated, a fab duet narration in the true sense, a bit like a radio play of what is actually a pretty dull book. I wish Audible gave a symbol outline of what to expect in books, a bit like the symbols used to show the amenities in a hotel ie bed, knife & fork, swimming pool etc. If I had known that MC1 is 23 and MC2 is 22 I would've skipped this book. The subject of MMA lulled me into expecting a real gritty adult story, as opposed to a tale with adult content. These are kids playing in the adult world, as such this story is a HFN, a very light drama. It was OK at times, but about 5 hrs too long.
