About this listen

Love’s colors are many.

David is a fortyish corporate lawyer. Handsome. Successful. With the seemingly perfect life in a northern Detroit Suburb. Despite all this, David is miserable when he finds out that his wife has been sexting his best friend. David - who is struggling with his sexual identity - files for divorce and plans on crashing on the couch in his office in a high rise building downtown.

Aaron is a twenty-something post-Harvard graduate burnt out on life and struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Fleeing Boston, and an abusive relationship, Aaron returns home to regroup and figure out what his next move is. Taking a job at cleaning offices, throwing himself into the shadows of blue-collar work, feels comfortable for him at this moment in life.

Life has many colors. However, for these two lost, lonely men, life is an awful shade of gray.

The trilogy of stories follows David and Aaron as they cross each other’s paths and, reintroduce each other to the joys of sex, conversation, and human intimacy.

This set features all three novellas in one book. Into the Gray, A Lighter Shade of Blue, and The Violet Skies of Morning.

Lovely romance novel with a lil Christmasness

(Not overpoweringly Christmassy if it's not your thing, but a dash of it is :).) A nice all rounder with likeable characters, and a good ratio of wholesome cosiness to steam.

A sweet and simmering snowed in romance!

An enjoyable short read/listen that will get your heart rate up. David and Aaron meet by chance and spark a connection neither of them was looking for. Aaron is in a place where he’s not sure of his next steps and David is at a crossroads in life, fresh from serving his wife divorce papers. These two smart individuals come together and teach each other more than they thought possible. A really sexy hookup to more style of romance that has all the sweetness, and care I like in a story while a connection that’s believable and in some ways relatable. I look forward to seeing whats next for Aaron and David.

Oh, my heart! Such an emotional next step for David & Aaron!

I’m loving this series! It’s heartfelt, steamy and so much more! After being snowed in, Aaron and David are now in a relationship and as that progresses parts of their pasts come back to challenge them. I found many parts of this book emotional, powerful and sad. I loved how Mr. Freeley approached so very serious issues with such heart and care while challenging these characters to fight for want they want. I feel like the love and passion fly off the page and I enjoyed this book even more than book one! A truly passionate, heartfelt read!!

A touching ending!

I really enjoyed this whole series. It’s sexy, steamy, so heartfelt and real that I fell in love with these characters and their story.

While David and Aaron’s story is somewhat of a whirlwind, they just work. In this one, they share a scary experience that leads to them taking the leap (perhaps faster than they intended) and it contains all the feels. A beautiful happily ever after for these two!!

Thanks for reading!

It was an alright story read by a good narrator.

I disliked how shallow the characters were. They were both 'sweet' and that is all the personality they get. I missed their thoughts and emotion.
Still, the plot was varied enough to entertain until the end.
