Agus Morales (El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, 1983) is a writer and reporter. He is the author of the novel 'Ya no somos amigos' (Temas de hoy, 2022). He also published the non-fiction books 'Cuando todo se derrumba' (2021) and 'We Are Not Refugees' (Imagine Publishing, First US Edition 2019, also published in Spanish, Catalan, Italian, Polish). He is the editor-in-chief of Revista 5W, a longform journalistic magazine, and has contributed to The New York Times and other media. He was correspondent for Spanish News Agency EFE for over five years in South Asia, where he covered social issues in India, the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan and the Afghan war. Morales is a doctor of Language and Literature and wrote his PhD thesis about Rabindranath Tagore's paintings and last poems. In 2019 he won the Ortega y Gasset Prize, one of the most important journalistic awards in Spain. He has also won the Saliou Traoré Prize of journalism in Africa. His book 'We Are Not Refugees' was the recommended journalistic book for the Festival de Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano Gabriel García Márquez (FNPI) in 2017.
