Author Brian McCullough, a successful attorney for over three decades, discovered his passion for writing later in life. In 2011, he sat at his computer to pen the first words of his first novel— six books later, he says there’s more to come! McCullough has three daughters, and he lives with his wife in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He's crazy about dogs, his white Cayman S Porsche, and good wine! Check out his website here: http://ontheedgeofnow.com/ He's also on social Media: Twitter: Facebook: Google+: Instagram: Here are some reviews from my books: The Departure: I had the privilege of being a test reader for this book -- it's a great crossover novel for young adult and adults! Suspense, adventure, and a darned good story -- perfect for curling up with cookies and milk! --L. McDonald (Goodreads) Extraordinary read! Really loved this book and the adventure and story it makes you A part of! Perfect for a reader of any level! --Wyatt (Amazon) I thought the book was great! The character shifts that Brian has put in place leave way for some beautiful moments. I liked that He kept it simple, The concept of the different world was laid out in a way that was easy to use your imagination, but complex enough that we couldn't comprehend living there. I believed all of the characters in this book are likable. Even the ones you don't want to like. I did however think that Chapter 17 is a little bit weird..The way in which the fight breaks out just didn't hook me. Thought it was a little cheesy. But overall excited to read the next book! --Sarah Hemphill (Amazon) I love books that are compelling but almost never experience this with new authors. But this book really grabbed me, especially after the first four chapters, I just blasted through it. A great romp of a read. Will be charging on to Book II. --Owen Jackson (Amazon) Powerful and engaging. Could not put it down. Suspenseful keeping me on the edge of my seat. A somewhat disturbing look at an alternate future for earth. Anyone interested in alternate realities would enjoy this. Excited about book 2. --Ariana Brackenbury (Amazon) A great read. It keeps you guessing what will happen next. It's hard to put down so I hope you have some time set aside to just sit down and read it from front to back. --Derek (Amazon) One of the best books I have read in awhile. I could not put the book down, every chapter left me wanting more. --Amazon Customer (Amazon) Loved the book! Kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more. So honored to be one of the trial readers and eagerly anticipating the next book! If you like books such as the Divergent series and other adventure science fiction of this kind, this will be perfect for you. Great author with an intriguing imagination, I look forward to reading more from him! -- debkrahn No Man's Land: There are few books I don't want to put down, and McCullough's books are in that category -- good, solid stories that are fun to read. No Man's Land grabbed my interest immediately, although I will never confess to a couple of late dinners on the table because I had my nose stuck in the book! The upshot? If you didn't read his first book, The Departure, do yourself a favor and read it first. As I understand it, McCullough's book is a series, so I'm definitely looking forward to reading all of them. I think one of the things I enjoy most is his books are great crossovers -- adults and kids will enjoy them, and they're suitable for young readers. Can't praise them enough! --L. McDonald Imagine parallel worlds—similar, yet different from our own. How would people react and adapt to being transported to a different world? The adventures of Tag, Rose and Claire continue in No Man’s Land— book two of On the Edge of Now.” “Brian McCullough is a master of character creation and development. He has a gift, within a paragraph or two, to have the reader caring about the new characters introduced in this book. The underlying premise of parallel worlds allows the author to explore societal issues, and even examine past cultures. There are no boundaries other than the writer’s imagination. It is exciting to consider where this may lead in future books of the series. While the first book examined environment and government regulation, this book explores discrimination and the value of different cultures in a society with very little government control. The underlying battle of good versus evil is presented as well as the bonds between family and romance across worlds. The good characters are placed in difficult situations, but have strong skills that are evenly divided between the men and the women. We can relate and cheer for the heroes to overcome the challenges they face. McCullough has a unique dialogue and crisp delivery style that rings true with the reader as we move from page to page, adventure to adventure. This book is another page turner in the series. Twists and turns are revealed slowly, including a major surprise at the end, which sets the stage for the next book. The approach is clever and unique, but there is a sense of familiarity due to its universal themes. At times humorous, the story is fantastic, yet easy to follow. Enough details are provided for the reader to suspend disbelief in alternate worlds and instead let our minds wander as to how a few changes can result in major evolutionary developments. We get caught up in a great story. The reader can simply drift along and enjoy all of the action, twists and turns or take time to reflect upon the idea of parallel worlds and how they might develop. I highly recommend this book, and eagerly await the next book of the series. For best effect, please read the first book before reading the second.” -- Bob C The second in the “On the Edge of Now” series, No Man’s Land, grabs your imagination, keeps the suspense mounting and the pages turning with this riveting, unnervingly, very plausible story. Brian McCullough has yet again produced another great read; a book you can only put down when you’re done. As for the ending – so did not see that coming! I can hardly wait for book three to come out. --Beth A. Fredeen Redemption: It's been a long time since I read a science fiction book that kept my attention to the point of not wanting to put it down. McCullough's writing style is easy to read, and it seems he writes with the intent of drawing young and adult readers to his books -- my kids and I read his books without my having to check it out first for inappropriate content. What a treat! Somewhere through the grapevine I heard his fourth book is coming soon -- looking forward to it! --L. McDonald
