He also emphasized how essential self-care is for those in the helping professions. Early in his teaching career Dan taught college level courses to sailors on US Navy deployed ships. Dan then taught undergraduate and graduate level Psychology, Sociology, and Counseling classes for 29 years and earned the rank of full professor. He doesn’t pretend to have all the answers. He is not a guru. But Dan does bring to the table ideas and approaches that can increase the joy, gratitude, appreciation of beauty, and choices, that can improve people’s lives. The Silly Papa Dan grandpa side. As you can see from the picture, "Papa Dan" Windisch is a very happy, and very grateful, grandpa. This picture is of the amazing Miss Dallas. She, like all 10 of our grandchildren, melts his heart through all their growing stages. They add so much to his life and to Susan, his wonderful wife!
