Dominique Hoffman is a writer, artist, translator and webmaster (www.zebras54.fr) who writes in French, German and English. Born into a Franco-German family, she has a masters diploma of Applied Foreign Languages (English-German) LEA from the University of Montpellier. She grew up between France and Germany, and lived in Northern Ireland for 23 years and in Austria for two years. She's lived in Normandy since 2017, France She's worked in various professions as a translator, book revisor, secretary, home help, and private tutor. She was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2000, and became disabled . She then created her website zebras54, an art and literature blog and started again writing and drawing which she had always enjoyed. In 2001, she won a second prize for an essay on Europe by SPÖ Europabüro Vienna and second prize for a painting at Coutances Peintres dans la Rue in 2019. She first published her novel Bohemian Tales in 2012, with an second re-edition in 2014. In December 2021, she created her imprint zebras54.fr to publish her own work, art as well as her translations. She republished Bohemian Tales in 2022 Her favourite authors are Václav Havel (whom she met), Franz Kafka, Romain Rolland, Stefan Zweig, Anton Chekhov, Max Brod and she's passionate about 20h C European History.
