Eva Claudia Schweitzer, PhD, is a book author, publisher and journalist based in Berlin and New York. She reports on media and entertainment; among other papers for Cicero, Spiegel Online, the architecture magazine Baumeister, Jüdische Allgemeine and the political Blog Overton. She has published eleven books, including her dissertation on Times Square in New York City. "Links blinken, Rechts abbiegen" was published by Westend Verlag in Frankfurt in September 2021. In 2010, she founded Berlinica Publishing, based in New York and Berlin, a press for English books from Berlin, followed by the imprint Manahatta as well as the publishing platform Transatlantic Books (under incorporation). Most recently, she researched the Tucholsky family in America and Europe for the Tucholsky-Foundation. Previously, she was editor for the Tagesspiegel in Berlin, where she covered real estate and urban planning. She also wrote for Zitty, Wirtschaftwoche, and taz, and published the board game "Kreuzberger Stadtkartell." She received the Theodor Wolff Prize for a story in the taz about a murder in Berlin's real estate circles. She studied German literature, journalism and American history in Munich and Berlin and received her doctorate from Humboldt University. She is a member of the Foreign Press Association, the National Writers Union, Living Liberally, IG Medien and AAA.
