James Middleton has been a journalist and editor in Scotland and the north of England and is now a freelance copywriter and editorial consultant. His main interests are music and movies and working his way through an Open University degree course. He lives in Edinburgh and is currently writing his next novel. He started writing Meet on the Ledge – the title comes from a classic 60s song by Fairport Convention – after attending a school reunion on his home island of Bute on the west coast of Scotland several years ago. There the similarities end - the people, places and events in Meet on the Ledge are fiction.
