Jeremy Houghton is the author of Skids, a book written to show the often unseen and unknown world of homeless youth in the United States. While the book is fiction, it is based on Jeremy's personal experiences as well as those of street kids he has and continues to works with. As a child, Jeremy, the youngest of six children, was raised by his mother and later, his sister and brother in law, in various cities throughout the United States. Moving often allowed Jeremy to experience different local cultures and helped to nurture his passion for writing, which he started at a young age. Jeremy is a veteran, accomplished lyricist and a sought after expert in the cyber security field. He currently lives in Colorado Springs where he is working on completing his next novel as well as working with an international ministry as a Senior Director, leading their cyber security, network and web design teams. When he isn't writing or working at a job he loves, Jeremy, spends his time pursuing his other passions of working with homeless and abused children and women as well as working various organizations to stop human trafficking. A majority of the proceeds from his various writing endeavors goes toward his work with homeless and abused children and women as well supporting the various organizations he works with to stop human trafficking. His ultimate goal is to build a center focusing on giving homeless children, women and victims of human trafficking a safe place to eat, sleep, learn new skills, speak with counselors, continue their education, receive legal assistance and much more.
