Jon Blake is the author of over sixty books, primarily for children and teenagers. Jon is also a highly regarded creative writing tutor (www.parkwrite.com) and is the songwriter and guitarist-vocalist with Shipbuilding (www.shipbuilding.wales). Jon was brought up in Southampton and has lived in Cardiff since 1987. His website is at www.jonblake.co.uk. Jon's successes include "You're A Hero, Daley B" (Axel Scheffler's first picture book, worldwide sales of over 200,000) "Little Stupendo" (shortlisted for the 1996 Children's Book Award) and "Thimble Monkey Superstar" (shortlisted for the 2017 Lollies). Other big sellers include "One Girl School" and "Stinky Finger's House of Fun". In 1995 Jon's TV play 'Life' was shortlisted for a Writers Guild Award, while in 2002 he won a BBC Talent award for his adult radio sitcom "Degrees R Us". Jon is particularly noted for original and anarchic humour, typified by "Stinky Finger" series. "The Last Free Cat" is included in Bookbag's Top Ten Love Stories for Teenagers. Jon has been involved in countless community projects including songwriting projects with the residents of Adamsdown, Cardiff (www.adamsdown.wordpress.com). Jon is an outstanding motivator of children. Author visits can be arranged by emailing jonblakeauthor@gmail.com.
