Her family has fostered more than 200 of them, and her dog training business, PupStart, focuses on supporting new owners through puppyhood. Kathy's the author of two books: Welcoming Your Puppy from Planet Dog: How to Go Beyond Training and Raise Your Best Friend, and 101 Rescue Puppies: One Family's Story of Fostering Dogs, Love and Trust. In addition to her two books, Kathy writes on training and behavior for Whole Dog Journal. Kathy lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband Tom, along with foster-fails Mojo the German Shepherd mix, George the Great Pyrenees mix, Kreacher the Chow mix, and Mr. Bojangles, the tuxedo cat.
