Hi! I’m Marigold Brown. I have three amazing kids and an amazing husband. I’ve been trying to connect with my heritage for many, many years and have been disappointed, repeatedly, with the content that’s available. Now that I’ve got a better grasp of who I am, and how I fit into our culture, I want to be able to share it with my kids and with other families who might be going through the same thing. My stories are the stories I would have been told by my kookum when I was growing up and they are the stories I want my children to be familiar with. Growing up in the heart of the Canadian prairies is was beautiful experience. I still love looking at the fields heavy with grain and visiting our communities secret lakes and hidden treasures. Fall is easily the most stunning time to travel across the Canadian prairies. The colours are so rich and the land is so full of life! I hear all the time that Saskatchewan is a dull province - I tell people they just aren’t looking close enough. I hope my books find their way into your home and I hope they pass on the teachings of my culture in a way that’s accessible to everyone. - M. Brown
