Mark grew up in an industrial steel town of Consett, County Durham, England in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. He has lived in Milton Keynes, England for the past 17 years, where he has invariably commuted to London and the surrounding counties for work as a construction and energy professional. He has competed for Milton Keynes Athletics Club at; 3000m steeple chase, 5000m and 1500m, as well as being East of England champion at 400m as a veteran in 30-35 age category whilst also competing as a member of East of England veteran’s team in 4x100m, 200m, 800m and 1500m. Mark Dowson's own inspiration to write the trilogy has come from his knowledge and experience in carrying out his own personal wind energy research at a Masters of Science degree level. The story's foundation is based on his own factual research dissertation and has transformed and expanded upon these facts to create an exciting fictional mystery thriller. Mark has published a Wind research article for Amida recruitment based on his wind research. Mark has worked on some of the most prestigious renewable power generation projects in the UK as a practicing Commercial Manager for the past 15 years which substantiates his factual research being valid and reliable. Mark has attained a Masters of Science degree in Marketing Product Management from Cranfield University which has influenced his economic and political theme of the story, and a Masters of Science degree in Quantity Surveying from London Southbank University and Construction Law which has also influenced his construction economics theme of the story besides carrying out his wind energy research. He has also studied Art History and Psychology at A level which has heavily influenced the use of art history, mental health and perception themes within the story. This story illustrates how PTSD can in fact improve the ability to visualise in a deeper detailed way. It identifies the strengths of a mental illness and how it can become a superpower to the individual and the world. Emotional openness overcomes mental health issues and stimulates creativity further to complete design solutions. It is a story detailing a journey of self discovery and realising that true leadership and creativity go hand-in-hand.
