Michael Berry now devotes his time to writing fiction, none of which has yet been shared with the world. He is a retired data science and analytics consultant who can still occasionally be coaxed into doing small projects in that field. He was one of the founders of Data Miners, a highly regarded data mining consultancy. He also taught marketing analytics at the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. Together with his colleague, Gordon Linoff, Professor Berry is author of some of the most widely read and respected books on data mining. His books reflect many years of practical, hands-on experience down in the data mines. They have been translated into French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. Michael lives with his wife in Cambridge, Massachusetts for most of the year, and spends summers on a lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Michael does some of his writing there at the lake, when not pursuing other interests such as reading great fiction, drinking fine wine, and cooking fun meals. He enjoys leisurely hikes with stops to pick berries and wild mushrooms, gentle flat-water canoeing and kayaking, and sitting on the porch admiring the view.
