Murmel Clausen was born in Munich on October 8, 1973. After graduating from high school, he began writing and presenting the radio show "Klub Ma:d" for Radio Energy Munich with Max Witzigmann. There he met Michael "Bully" Herbig, Rick Kavanian and Christian Tramitz, with whom he later wrote "die bullyparade" and "Der Schuh des Manitu". After four years in Berlin, where he was head writer for "ProSieben Morningshow" and "headnut tv" for Erkan & Stefan, among others, he wrote three seasons of "Tramitz & Friends" with Max Witzigmann and Christian Tramitz. Since the fifth season, he has been a writer for Anke Engelke's show "Ladykracher". In 2009, he provided the scripts for the ten-part ORF real-time sitcom "Die Gipfelzipfler" - one year later, the cinema comedy "3faltig", developed by him, Christian Tramitz and Hermann Bräuer, was filmed. In May 2012, his first novel "Frettsack" was published by Wilhelm Heyne Verlag, which was made into a film by Matthias Schweighöfer in 2014 under the title "Vaterfreuden". From 2013 to 2018, Murmel Clausen wrote eight Weimar crime scenes with Andreas Pflüger, and from 2019 he continued writing the series alone. Two seasons of the Amazon Originals series "Der Beischläfer" were created in collaboration with Mike Viebrock, and "One Night Off" was created with Doron Wisotzky in 2021. In 2022, he signed an exclusive contract with Constantin Film and worked with Til Schweiger for "Manta Manta Teil Zwo" as his first official act. His novel "Leming", was published in March 2024.
