I'm a British historian who has been interested in English history all of my life. When I was four, my mother made sure that my bedtime story revolved around the tales of Camelot and King Arthur. This progressed to Henry VIII, and I've been hooked on history ever since! For my 14th birthday, my mother even made me an Elizabeth I cake! I absolutely love the Tudors - doesn't everybody?! But I also love learning about new people and periods. I graduated from Bath Spa University with a first class BA Hons. degree in History in 2011, and from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2013 with an MA in Public History. My dissertation was actually a Tudor mobile phone app, Tudor London Hotspots, which you can download for free on Android and I Phone devices. In 2019 I completed my PhD at the University of Winchester. My thesis, entitled 'All the Queen's Jewels, 1445-1548', examines the jewellery collections of the queens of England during this period - it's such an interesting topic! I've been fortunate enough to enjoy a varied career as a curator, lecturer, and researcher, and historical research is my passion. I spent five years researching and writing about the Grey family for my first book, and you're most likely to find me delving into documents at the National Archives or the British Library. Although history is my primary interest, I also love musicals and the theatre, and enjoy the odd glass of bubbly!
