Pete Peru was born in November, 1954. His mother was english and his father Irish. He lived in Leamington Spa, England, until he was 18. He then began to wander, eventually taking up residence in Bristol where he married for the first time and lived until 1980. In 1982 he went to Peru and spent the next year and a half travelling in Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. His experiences there are recorded in a still unpublished autobiographical novel. He returned to Leamington Spa in 1984, where he met his to be partner in letters, Lord Tupelo. It was his Lordship who bestowed upon him the title of Pete Peru. Always drawn to the arts, he has been to art school, to university where he studied Latin American literature and history, played in several bands - currently guitarist in Chameleon Death Squad - and written musical plays; "Cinderella Rocks", "Bella and the Beast", poems and fiction novels. Pete Peru now lives near Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Reeking Hegs, co-authored with Lord Tupelo, is his first published work.
