I grew up hiking in the Rockies, working in local mountain parks, and driving a truck in wheat harvest. I travelled extensively in my college years, living in Germany, Guam, and India. My studies were also well-travelled, starting with chemistry, and then migrating to theology and finally philosophy. I love seeing things from different perspectives and a have deep desire to know what is going on below the surface. I have also learned the value of listening and understanding others, even when we disagree. My first two books (co-authored with Tim Muehlhoff), were Winsome Persuasion and Winsome Conviction; both won book awards from Christianity Today. These two works focused on the challenges of communicating Christian conviction--both to the non-Christian world and also across theological and political divides within the church. My third book (co-authored with Joanne Jung), The Call to Follow, considers our culture's leadership obsession, and takes a hard look at correctives offered both by the life of Christ and the Bible in general.
