Robert L. Bryan was born in Queens, New York, and has been a life long New York City resident. He retired after a twenty year career with the New York City Police Department at the rank of captain, and is currently the chief security officer at a New York State government agency. He is also an adjunct professor in the homeland security department of a NYC college. Robert writes memoirs and police procedurals regarding his law enforcement career with the NYPD and US Border Patrol. Additionally, he has completed several works of fiction in the thriller and mystery genres. Robert has also authored several works of non-fiction regarding crime prevention, security, and the railroad industry. Robert has won numerous awards for his writing including first place in the published fiction category in 2017 of the Public Safety Writers Association writing competition for THE LAST DAY, a fictional thriller about a terrorist threat to the NYC subway system.
