Roman Maria Koidl, born 1967, is working as an entrepreneur and publicist in Zurich, Switzerland. He served as a lecturer at University of Applied Arts in Vienna and founded a string of start ups in Europe, amongst them e-commerce and digital media companies. Besides these ventures Koidl began to restore a detached power plant building in Berlins city centre, turning it into a space for private contemporary art collections in the form of the non-profit Kunsthalle Koidl art exhibition space. Along with his activities, Koidl has published five non-fiction books, including the two DER SPIEGEL bestsellers "Scheisskerle" and "Blender", which have been translated into numerous languages (e.g. Russian, Korean, Italian). Koidl became known to the broader public in late 2012 as a member of German chancellor candidate Peer Steinbrück’s election campaign team (SPD), for whose federal election campaign he had developed a comprehensive digital campaign strategy.
