About Romany... Romany performs her beautiful, visual magic show in theatres, corporate and story-telling events. How did she become a world-class magician? Spun Into Gold is her story. Despite being thoroughly starstruck from a child, after university Romany found herself in a navy business suit and briefcase selling data systems, stuck like Alice outside the world of showbiz and theatre, looking in without any idea how to join in. A good job and mortgage repayments were never her dream, instead think spotlights, red velvet theatre curtains and fabulous costumes. Finally at 26, probably because she was in the wrong place and wrong career all the wheels fell off the bus and Romany found herself stuck in her childhood bedroom with severe agoraphobia and extreme anxiety. She knew one thing. That the only thing that was ever important to her was theatre. She decided to give up her corporate career and search for her dream, no matter how long or what it took. After being spotted by a top British agent, she was invited to headline on the top luxury Seabourn cruise ships and sailed the seas for the last decade performing her own solo show. Why did it take so long? For the first time, Romany reveals the story of her three-decade battle with bulimia and anxiety, hoping that her positive way of coping with these obstacles with give hope and inspiration to other sufferers and their families. In this honest, funny and page-turning book, Romany takes us on her rollercoaster and fearless journey following her dreams. How do you have a magical life? You listen to the whispers of your intuition and follow them. In the words of Joseph Campbell, "Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls." After publishing this book, Romany has now recovered completely from her eating disorder and gives talks worldwide to give hope to other sufferers and relatives. She now lives in an ancient stone cottage in Cumbria, England with her husband Walkabout, and a Bulgarian rescue dog named Ruzha the Golden.
