Samuel Ashworth is an award-winning author, screenwriter, and professor. His journalism, fiction, and criticism have appeared in The Atlantic, the Washington Post, Eater, Longreads, Elemental, Hazlitt, Gawker, NYLON, Hobart, Barrelhouse, Catapult, The Times Literary Supplement, and many others. His debut novel, THE DEATH AND LIFE OF AUGUST SWEENEY, was longlisted for the Dzanc Prize for Fiction. Born and raised in Manhattan, he graduated from Columbia University, and earned his MFA at George Mason University. He lives with his wife and sons in Washington, DC, where he is still trying to master the art of cooking Chinese food at home.
