I was born in Leicester, England, but spent most of my adult life in Scotland, where I was a member of Bute Writers group. The interaction, positive feedback and general creative atmosphere of the group both improved my writing and pushed me to become more prolific. (I would recommend joining a writers' group to any budding writer). During my time in Scotland, I wrote a collection of short stories and a humorous stage play ('The Pipes, the Pipes), which was staged by the local drama group on Bute. I have lived in China since 2008, and have taught at various international schools, including two in Suzhou (a beautiful city close to Shanghai, which I highly recommend you visit if you ever come to China). I am a founder member of Suzhou Writers Group, a very productive and inspiring group of local and expat writers in the city. Our first anthology was 'Letters from Suzhou', and a second book will be published by the end of 2021.
