Subhash Chandra Kushwaha, a bureaucrat by profession, an author by passion and social worker by emotion, was born in 1961 in village Jogia Janubi Patti, Fazilnagar, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, India, in a family of farmers. He received his Postgraduation degree(Science) in Statistics. His interest towards poetry reflects in his collections. He is a well known Hindi short stories writer and has many published collections to his credit (Hakim Sarai Ka Akhiri Adami, Bucharkhana, Hoshiyari Khatak Rahi Hai, Lala Harpal Ke Joote and Lal Batti Aur Gullel) He has contributed as an editor for several books. He has a deep interest in Subalterns History and has written research-based many books- Chauri Chaura:Vidroh Aur Swadhinta Andolan, Awadh ka kisan Vidroh, Bheel Vidroh:Sangharsh Ke Sava Sau Sal, Tantya Bheel:The Great Moonlighter of India and Kabir Hain Ki Marate Nahin.The realization of the life of Indian farmers, he focus on subaltern history. He has been working for last 15 years in the direction of the preservation and promotion of folk culture and art.
