Susan Elliot Wright is the bestselling author of five novels, including the acclaimed The Flight of Cornelia Blackwood. Her most recent, the creepy domestic noir All You Ever Wanted, was published in 2022. Her powerful contemporary novels about women’s lives have been published in many languages, shortlisted for prizes, and rank high in the Nielsen bestseller chart. Before turning to fiction, she worked in journalism, writing hundreds of features for women’s magazines, and 10 non-fiction books on health-related topics. She is currently a Royal Literary Fund Fellow and Creative Writing tutor/mentor, and is passionate about encouraging new writers. Susan grew up in South East London, left school at 16 and only later began to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a novelist. Her various jobs include: civil servant, cleaner, barmaid, washer-up, market researcher, cake decorator, further ed teacher and chef. Her debut, The Things We Never Said, started life on a writing MA in 2008 and was later published by Simon & Schuster, becoming an instant bestseller. Susan lives in Sheffield with her husband and a lab/collie cross called Norman. She has two grown-up children and a smattering of grandchildren.
