The Plan, Susan Klopfer's newest book, is based on the tight bond between Clinton and Joe, two gay, black lawyers that is broken when Joe is reportedly found hanged. A suicide seems impossible to Clint, and Joe's widow (a beautiful woman) is acting cagey. Clinton Moore believes Joe Means was tortured and murdered, and that his and Joe's shared obsession, investigating and fact gathering about the cover-up of various murders and assassinations of civil rights activists, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and President John F. Kennedy, is the reason for Joe's death. Clinton also believes he is next on a hit list, and that solving Joe's murder is his only chance of survival. When he discovers Joe's wife has been spirited away as an expat to South America, he sends his trusted Spanish-speaking legal assistant, Mollie Johnson, to find Tara. Clinton Moore tells his story as a ghost. The Plan takes readers from the Mississippi Delta to the Andes of Ecuador and is now available as an eBook. The Plan, an alternative, and paranormal historical fiction novel, is also set for publication as a print book in February of 2014. Susan and her husband, Fred, once lived on the grounds of Mississippi's Parchman Penitentiary where Fred was the state's chief private prison psychologist. While Fred worked, she roamed the Delta, talking to people who'd lived through the modern civil rights movement and then writing The Emmett Till Book, Who Killed Emmett Till? and Where Rebels Roost. Today, they live in Cuenca, Ecuador, at the base of the Andes. Susan, a former journalist and publishing house acquisitions and development editor, is a graduate of Hanover College and Indiana Wesleyan University.
