I have taught writing and composition for Northwest Indian College, served as poet laureate for the small university town where I reside, and was a humor columnist for Indian Country Today. This spring I am the 2019 Simons Public Humanities fellow for University of Kansas Hall Center for the Humanities. I teach multi-genre humor writing that elevates awareness of social justice issues with regards to race, feminism, politics, environmental justice, and identity. I am a citizen of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. My humor memoir "Bury My Heart at Chuck E. Cheese's" is forthcoming in October, 2019, from the University of Nebraska Press. And a collection of subversively comic poems "HORNS” is also forthcoming from Spokane’s Scablands Books, late 2019.
