William Turner was born in Arcadia, Kansas. Upon graduating from Arcadia High School in 1948, he began his scholastic career at the University of Kansas. At Kansas University, he received a B.A. degree in Business Administration and a J.D. degree from the School of Law. He served in the United States Air Force, including a year in Korea during the Korean conflict. During thirty five years as a trial lawyer with the Kansas City Law Firm of Gage & Tucker (now lathrop & Gage), he was the Director of the Firm's Trial Department. During his legal career, Mr. Turner was an active lecturer throughout America on such diverse subjects as: trial techniques, time mangement and legal/medicine. His articles were published in hospital, medical and legal journals and included: "The Legal Pitfalls of Nursing", and Time Management for Lawyers". Mr. Turner is co-author of the chapter "Legal Issues in Family Medicine," published in "Family Medicine: Principles and Practice, 2nd edition, Robert B. Taylor (Editor), Springer - Verlag, New york. Mr. Turner was an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas Department of Hospital Administration. After retiring in 1995, Mr. Turner wrote his first work of fiction "A Christmas Friend" (1997-1998). He is currently writing a full length novel which focus on Crawford County, Kansas, the Yukon and two Italian locations. The author has also scheduled another children's book featuring a crazy goat with magical powers.
