Summary

The adventure concludes with the triumphant finale in the Riftwar Saga. Raymond E. Feist is an internationally best-selling author.

The battle may be over, but war is coming… The Kingdom forces may have won the first conflict but the enemy has a strong grip on Midkemia and invasion now seems inevitable.

Arutha travels north to confront the Dark Elves, but without help, Pug knows that Arutha's forces face slaughter. With Tomas he must scour the world - and beyond - to find the one person with enough power to give them a chance. If they fail, Midkemia will be the first of many worlds to fall to a madman with the power to dominate death itself…

A Darkness at Sethanon concludes Raymond E. Feist's bestselling Riftwar Saga.

Pronunciation.

If Peter Joyce learned how to pronounce the names properly the story would sound a lot better.

Dan & Dave must read

This could be the new Game of Thrones or at least an epic movie
Peter Joyce as narrator is wonderful, the best I’ve heard on Audible

Solid Traditional Fantasy epic

As a fantasy fan since the mid80s I'm amazed it took me so long to get around to Riftwar, which this book concludes the first trilogy. It's a product of its time, with heroic yet likeable characters battling ancient evil, with the added dimension of multiple world's, and suitably grandiose magic. the range of monsters and races is reminiscent of a well run DnD campaign, which for me is fine.
I found the no nonsense style and pace refreshing in comparison to many more modern works. Sometimes your simply in the mood for a non-ambigious not morally grey story with a few chuckles.
the narration worked well on Audible; the narrator had the voice of a classical British narrator, like Michael Horden or Ian McKellen. suited the book well.

Superb

Following on from Silverthorn, A darkness at Sethanon is a brilliant conclusion to the rift war saga, Peter Joyce is an amazing orator and keeps you gripped from start to finish, having been a fan of Fiest for many years and having red the books a few times it’s nice to kick back and let my ears do the work instead of my eyes, although there is still no comparison to the turning of pages, all in all a throughly entertaining experience, highly recommended

a fast paced if slow ending

as the final book in the series it's one you want to devour in big bites. the pace is almost perfect in the mixing of the key characters..
but if Pug has to train his powers why not Tomas it seems weird that Tomas does not train in using his powers.

Great finish to the series

Good finish to the series, it picks up right from the the book before, I'll be getting more of Feist's books

Finished......really!

So disappointed to finish this trilogy. No longer will Pug and Aruta accompany me to the gym, in the car, whilst I do the cleaning. I will miss them😞

A great way to finish the trilogy

This is nowhere as good as the original Magician story wise but the performance is excellent and the story comes to a satisfying conclusion. If you love DND style fantasy you will not be disappointed. It does not take itself too seriously and is reasonably light in nature.

Beautifully descriptive

An amazing escape into a wonderful world. The narrator compliments the author brilliantly, allowing you to be transported into a fantastically designed fantasy. The series has gripped me from the beginning, and these audio novels add so much more. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy, and a great series for anyone who wants to give fantasy a go.
