Tijan
About this listen
From New York Times bestselling author Tijan comes a raw, tempestuous romance between the criminal underworld and a parole officer that paints a thin line between right and wrong.
When Jess Montell meets Trace West at a hockey game, she doesn’t know his name or occupation. What she does know is there’s an instant attraction that’s impossible to ignore—or forget. And forgetting is exactly what she wants to do when she learns he’s not just a successful Wall Street suit but the heir to one of New York’s biggest Mafia families.
The last thing Trace needs is a romantic anything with law enforcement, and parole officer Jess has trouble written all over her. Too bad he likes trouble. Especially when it’s a brunette bombshell with attitude and legs for days.
She’s an absolute spitfire, and he wants to stoke that flame.
Trace didn’t ask for the Mafia life. Jess doesn’t want any part of it. They both know it’s safer to stay away, but the temptation is too hard to resist—no matter how great the danger.

a great story of love despite the odds.
captivating story. Did not sugar coat things and told it like it is in real life - no real all round perfect solutions or people, just relationships you work on and people you care for.
Hated the end. That was not a cliff hanger. it's a precipice!

I love Tijan’s mafia twists
When parole officer Jess Montell meets mafia boss Trace West at a hockey game sparks fly. That is until they realise they are on the opposite sides of the law. A cop and a criminal - it’s never going to work. Or is it? The pull is strong, and fate seems to want them to be together. No matter how hard they fight it, no matter how much they are warned to stay away from each other. There are so many different things at play in this story. Family drama from all sides, so many connections between all the characters, it definitely kept me on my toes. Decisions to be made, not always the right ones in my opinion., I didn’t like anything that kept these two apart. I loved them together. The protective alpha and the independent cop with attitude. Lots of action, lots of surprises. Highly entertaining. I can’t wait to see where book 2 takes us, there’s so much more to explore in this world of secrets and organised crime. Narration from Joe Arden (he’s fantastic as a mafia boss), and the wonderful CJ Bloom. I could listen to these two all day.

Read and listened in KU
This is my first Tijan book but it won't be my last.
I love books that have two worlds collide. Where main characters have to question whether their attraction is worth the sacrifices and where a moral compass could go off kilter.
However this book is more than a mafia prince and a parole officer.
I thoroughly enjoyed the story going on in the background and the mystery that ensued.
All in all, the best kind of book. A forbidden romance with a whole lot of skullduggery and mysterious goings on.
I certainly didn't work out whodunnit.
Superb!

all the mafia goodness
This book was really good. The story was interesting and had me hooked from the very beginning. I listened to it in one day!!
Trace and Jess were so good together even though they were such an unlikely couple. I loved the side characters and cant wait to listen to Ashtons book.

Beware the cliffhanger!
Thought this was going to be good standalone story....right until the last minute. Everything was getting wrapped up then...gasp! Now I need to find out if there's a sequel

The book wasn’t what I was expecting. There a kind of cliff hanger at the end which I wasn’t expecting.
The romance in this book is what I expecting, great connection and twists in the relationship. Trace totally in love with Jess.

Good listen
I enjoyed this book. My only gripe is that the female narrator doesn’t put the ‘g’ on the end of ‘ing’ words. Found it a little irritating.
