another cracking read by David Baldacci
loved the build up of Archer's character. Story line true to the era. for the most part the male characters were excellently protrayed but I'd problems with the women, they sounded too similar. Enjoyable but ending a bit too obvious early on.

A good old fashioned crime novel
Archer is turning into a real character. I don’t know much about the America of the time but this book captures the spirit of the time. The story is good and the performances of the readers is first rate. Thoroughly recommended

Took a while

a well paced story.
a great story. Ms presley needs more variation in her repertoire of voices, but it didn't detract from the overall listening experience.

Better than the first one even
I found the first one really fascinating but with this one I would have loved to be able to give a 5+. Hoping for a third book sonner rather than later. Love the characters and the "scenery"

Excellent read
Brilliant storytelling from the talented Badicci .Set in roughly 1950s era , it is , atmospheric , entertaining. and thoroughly enjoyable Would definitely recommend this book and love his character Archer in this new series .Superb

Gripping.
I found this book a very good follow on from the first. The main character “Archer” stayed true to his personality portrayed in the first of (hopefully) the series. Edoardo Ballerini reads beautifully, he did the female roles in the first book but in this book Brittany Presley did the female lead. She did this very well but I am used to just one reader and found this a distraction.

A fun listen
An enjoyable story which works to some extend only as it’s set in the mid 20th century. Ably performed though I wish the forced attempts at authenticity by using words/slang from its era is avoided by the writers as that did grate on me a little (very personal opinion alert so please feel free to ignore/disagree)
Nevertheless, I’d happily purchase future instalments of this character, the writer(s) or either of the two actors.
