Not original recipes?

USA authors sometimes lack knowledge about relevant European history and this really distracts readers from the story. Rhubarb ginger jam has been made for generations in the UK - although I use fresh lemon juice and lemon or apple peel instead of pectin. Rose flavoured recipes exist, and various spices have been used in traditional jam recipes from across Europe and Asia. Difficult to take seriously a jam expert who does not know that some of 'her' recipes already exist.
