About this listen
Anneke’s typical day at the office is thrown into disarray when she finds her next patient is an unwitting werewolf. And it doesn’t end there.
From the moment Caleb Kitt walks into Doctor Anneke Lund’s office for his psychiatry session, she knows his problem isn’t mental. He’s been experiencing night terrors, having violent and bloodthirsty dreams, and waking up naked in strange places. But he’s not losing his mind, as he suspects. He’s actually a werewolf - he just doesn’t know it yet.
Anneke isn’t just a psychiatrist - she’s also an empath, meaning she can read minds, and influence thoughts and behavior. She rarely uses her powers, but recognizes she may have no other choice as Caleb must be convinced of his supernatural status before the next full moon arrives. When it does, though, she finds herself going way beyond her duty of care to ensure Caleb doesn’t hurt or kill anyone when he transforms. But at what cost?
Please note: A Werewolf State of Mind was previously published in Coming in Hot: Rescue Me boxed set.

A unique shifter story
The storyline was definitely unique in its concept. I feel like with more time and development this could have been a much better book. As a novella though it just didn't quite click for me. It had some bright spots and spots that just felt rushed and underdeveloped. I'd love to see this as a longer series though. I do think it has potential.
The narrator has a plesent voice to listen too. There isn't really a lot of difference between the male and female voices though. It's not a bad performance but not a stellar one either.

Quick listen
This book was all about a newly turned werewolf coming to terms with his new personality. With the help of a mind reading shrink trying to control the beast inside.

My Thoughts A Werewolf State of Mind
This book had an interesting premise. The blurb sounded good, and honestly, I liked the narrator. I just think overall it missed some potential in the writing or the plot. The story was shorter than most I listen to, so I took that into account. I just think I was missing a few more twists and maybe a bit more action. Or maybe a bit more actual romance. I was missing the interaction and getting to know you part for me to really feel the connection between the two main characters. Maybe the situation they were dealing with heightened things and helped their connection along, but I just didn’t feel it. I found both characters to be likable for the most part, but I just didn’t get invested in them.
I would be interested in hearing more from this narrator in future, and maybe even trying a different story from this author. But preferably a longer one in hopes that I’ll get more from the characters to believe in their connection and to get invested in their HEA.

Wow
With intriguing and interesting characters this story had me hooked. I loved the air of almost mystery as the main characters danced around revealing the fact he was a werewolf. Maybe shorter novel but it didn’t feel rushed at all

Love this idea and it was narrated well.
Juliette Longwell does really well bringing these characters to life. Her narration sucked me right in and kept a hold of me.
Oh man I know this is just a novella but I didn't want it to end! I would have happily spent more time with them and I want to know how they work stuff out! It's a really great idea and set up and works very well. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Good!
Some great sexual chemistry made for a hot steamy scene. I liked how they met and especially her awesome powers. I would have definitely liked to see her use her powers more. The whole story was very good and I really enjoyed it. The narrator was new to me but I really enjoyed her and thought she did an excellent job.

An interesting premise, but ...
This story had an interesting premise and was entertaining, but it was a bit on the short side, so I didn’t really feel a connection to the characters, and the development of their relationship was a bit rushed. I would also have liked to see some parts of the story from Caleb’s point of view too, rather than just when Anneke was using her empath mind reading ability. I liked the narration, but there wasn’t much of a difference between the male and female voices.

Baskerville Book Reviews
Most of the short stories I’ve read, listened to, and reviewed have been good. This is no exception, I knew it wouldn’t be going in. This isn’t the first Lucy Felthouse story I’ve reviewed. I’m a (new) fan of her work.
I loved every minute of this story. First and foremost, because it’s different. I thought I’d read so many romance stories that I could predict exactly how this would go. But I was wrong and that made it new and exciting. The characters have chemistry and it doesn’t feel ridiculously rushed like so many stories do. It takes its time, builds up to the payoff, and then it ends. Damn, why did it have to end/ I had temporarily forgotten it was a short story and I died a little inside when I heard the credits.
The summary (the Audible one at least) is exactly what you get. It gets in, tells its story, wraps things up nicely while leaving room for a follow-up. A follow-up I would totally read. These two are adorable together.
Aside from having to listen to the narrator mispronounce envelope several times, the narration is great. “Onvelope” isn’t a word and that will never stop annoying me. Envelope is envelop with an e on the end. Nobody says onvelop because that’s stupid.

Great
I loved this. Short and sweet. Powerful heroine. Fit but flawed man through no fault of his own. Drawn together in the most unusual way. And sexual tension evident from the first sight. It would be great to know more of these twofurther down the road of their journey

Short and unusual for paranormal romances
This audiobook is short and quite unusual for a paranormal romance. In fact, the romance in the story is almost an afterthought to the actual plot. Dr Anneke is a psychiatrist with special gifts. Caleb Kitt comes to her with unusually vivid dreams that seem to be affecting him physically too. Turns out he is a werewolf but he does not know it. In fact, he is entirely unaware of supernatural beings and Anneke feels duty bound to inform him of the situation and help him through the change before anyone gets hurt.
This story is definitely interesting and quite unusual for this genre. It was quick and easy to listen to though i wish it were a little longer so that the audience got a little more insight into the development of the romantic relationship between the two protagonists.
