Might be the best in the series
I found this the easiest book of the four Ahriman novels to get through and does a great job of setting the stage for what's to come next.

Narrator forgot character voices...
Narrator couldn't remember original character voices in earlier Ahriman audiobooks which was really jarring. At least Ahriman himself still sounded the same. Quality of writing not up to par with rest of Ahriman series. Cool ideas, completely "meh" execution.

Alright, but lesser than its predecessors
More of the Thousand Sons scheming that I enjoy and Sylvanus’ devolution is a delightful consistency,
However my two problems with the book are that it goes nowhere and requires a good general knowledge of 40K. I can’t explain the first point without spoiling, but it feels like it ends no better than it begins. As for the second, the book has a habit of describing other factions and refusing to name them, so Emperor help you if you don’t know about the Necrons, because they’re somewhat prevalent and the book never actually names them.

I'm sorry......., I could not get into this.
From the start, this seemed really slow & confusing, I found myself being distracted by other things after a solid 2 and a half hours, I have to admit, I had to give up. I put this down to a mixture of the narration and the way the story attempted to pan out.
I have listened and read well over to over 1000+ hours of Black library within the last 12-14 months, This felt like wading though treacle.
When Black Library does great, the lore and the stories are better than any fantasy Sci-fi genre,
I cannot help but think they are churning out books at a rate of industrial quantities, Please remember GW and Black Library, fans like quality over quantity.
I don't like posting bad reviews, as I have listened and read a good few John French books. A lot were great reads! like Solar War & Templar( a really good short by John). Unfortunately, this audio from the start just felt painful.
