About this listen
Jane Bell had dreamt of playing in the casinos of Monte Carlo, but in her punk phase she got herself pregnant, and now she’s 46. She's a grandmother, her dreams as dry as the dust her Dyson sucks up from her hall carpet. Then her son, Ross, a researcher working for an arms manufacturer, is forced to disappear and to part with the secrets of his research. Jane will finally get the adventure she’s always wanted but at a price....

Enjoyable romp, albeit a tad unbelievable
Would you listen to All Fun and Games Until Somebody Loses an Eye again? Why?
Eventually, but there is a few more ahead of it in the list
What was one of the most memorable moments of All Fun and Games Until Somebody Loses an Eye?
Chaos Cottage. Gripping.
Which character – as performed by Sarah Barron – was your favourite?
Mrs Fleming
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No. It's not that type of book
Any additional comments?
I love Christopher Brookmyre. A great storey teller, particularly when introducing humour. This wasn't one of those, but still stands put as a excellent thriller.

Loved it from start to finish
I had never heard of this author before and bought it as a ‘daily deal’.
It turned out to be something very different from what I was expecting but I loved it from start to finish and became totally willing to suspend disbelief. I loved the occasional humour in it too and laughed out loud several times.
The narration was excellent too.
Highly recommended!

smashing yarn! gripping, funny & far fetched
This is my second Chris Brookmyre book and it won't be my last. I had to listen to the first ten minutes (or so) a few times but once I got into I was hooked right to the end. Sarah Barron is fantastic with the narration - well paced and nuanced. As a Scot living south of the border, it was a delight to hear her Scottish accent, but she was equally fluent and consistent whatever accent she adopted.

Slow starter, then entertaining throughout
A thoroughly enjoyable tale that gets you on the edge of your seat one minute and laughing out loud the next. Slow to start, but well worth the wait, with great characters and disbelief only suspended slightly.

Utterly amazing
Loved this book it's brookmyre so wasn't surprised but hero was fantastic could really relate becoming mammy myself at 19 and granny at 40 and yet still being that girl inside all though I do still get excited at finding new lovely fragrance of fabric softener and delighted when new hoover gets even more muck up where my younger self would think ffs get a grip
Not just for mammys and granny's but clearly that bond is shown in a fantastic way enjoy

Gripping and Entertaining Escapism
Never a dull moment and a few hearty chortles along the way. An excellent story with twists, turns and the invitation to dream we could all be Jane Bell.
