About this listen

'Just perfect for a relaxing evening curled up in front of the fire' - Writing Tips Oasis

Curl up with this absolutely gorgeous cosy read, perfect for fans of Heidi Swain, Erin Green and Debbie Johnson.

Amelia Grey has a dream: toasting chestnuts by the fire with her husband Jack in their very own cosy cottage.
Their real life is another world - a cramped one-bedroom flat in Hackney. But when life takes a surprising turn, removal vans are soon heading to the Kent countryside.

They soon realise the cottage makeover is a far bigger project than they'd anticipated, and as Amelia begins to strip back the wallpaper and fittings, she discovers much more than she anticipated: a hidden secret. As Amelia's ideas about love and family change, will her fireside dream finally come true?

Loved the easy listening book

I thoroughly enjoyed the easy listening nature of this book and also enjoyed listening to the narrator's very pleasant voice.

Ideal book to craft along to on a wet Sunday in Scotland

warming lovely read. inspiring.

lovely story. A tale of a couple achieving their dream - eventually - but not without some self discovery

Gave up by chapter six!

This is dire, can't listen to it for one more minute. Having just listened to another chick lit title "I followed the rules" ( which was funny and entertaining) I was looking forward to some more nice easy listening. Amelia Grey is not a person to warm to, she behaves like a complete airhead diva, while her husband sounds too good to be true! There's no real depth to any of the characters and from what I've managed to listen to so far, not much of a storyline. The narration isn't helping either, with all the men's voices sounding so ridiculous that they can't be taken seriously at all. I'd return this if I could, but it was purchased on a BOGOF, so don't think I can. Definitely made the wrong choice with this one.

Cardboard quality audible nutrition

The book is breezy and airy, like having the TV on in the background, with no real substance. If you like tv shows about getting mortgages and doing up houses, this could be the book for you. The narration is the best thing about it, very easy to listen to, I kept expecting something to happen ,but the 'maturing' of the main character is just a little infuriating and is the main substance of the book.
