One wedding, two best men, one hell of a love story!
Declan Ramsay's brother Oliver was marrying Annabelle Aiken at a fairytale castle on the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland. The bride and groom decided that Annabelle's gay younger brother would share the best man duties with Declan. Declan had never met the kid who was to be his joint best man. Sam Aiken was abroad, working as an interpreter and finishing his studies. He wouldn't meet Declan until a few days before the wedding, so the best men communicated and planned their speech by email for more than a year.
But on meeting Sam Aiken, Declan is surprised to realize the kid isn't a kid at all, but a tall, blond, and athletic young man. Declan is sure he's straight, so he's alarmed by the ferocious attraction he feels for Sam. And as the attraction is reciprocated, the events at Dunloch Castle change everything Declan has ever believed about himself.
But, is Samuel Aiken all that he appears to be?

GLORIOUS M/M ROMANCE- With a twist
What did you like most about As You Wish?
I loved this book so much. It was funny, romantic, VERY sexy, and what a great ending. Sam and Declan's romance was just so much fun.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I fell head over heels for both Sam and Declan. Just wait and listen to the kilt scene...that was just soooo hot!
What about Gary Furlong’s performance did you like?
This is the first time i've listened to Gary Furlong and it won't be the last. His voice is very listenable. He had great pacing, his range of accents were brilliant and particularly his Scots accents were perfect. He wasn't shy when narrating the erotic scenes either so i was very impressed.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes, this made me laugh and cry. I stayed up into the wee small hours to finish the audiobook and went to sleep with a big smile on my face. I don't want to give much away, but the references to "The Princess Bride" movie and the way they were woven into the story was just genius.
Any additional comments?
This was such an entertaining listen and I adore Sam and Declan. The story was beautifully written and narrated. The perfect evening's entertainment. I hope the rest of the series will be in audio soon.

A Great Listen
I really liked this audiobook as it had a bit of everything: Angst, Lust, serious moments, really funny moments etc.
Gary Furlong did a great job of narrating and his accents were brilliantly done.
I can't wait to listen to the other books in this series.

Addictive
I received a free copy of this audiobook for the purpose of an honest review.
The thing that is noticeable the most, right from the moment you start listening to this book is the fact that the narrator was excellently chosen for this project, he really brought the characters to life and complimented the book extremely well.
The story was well written with all the characters in the book likeable and relatable. They all worked well together.
The story takes place in Scotland with a few of the characters having the native accent which is also done very well by the narrator. Even before reaching the end of this title the book grabs hold of you and makes you want to rush to buy the next in the series. It is that addictive.

Romantic, Funny and Amazing Narration
I think I might have accidentally stumbled on to an M/M gem with Shatterproof Bond.
If book one is anything to go by I have an interesting ride to come.
This story occurs at a Scottish castle and so immediately that got my attention. Sam and Declan are adorble characters from the get go and Gary Furlong's sublime narration and accents just amplified the story- turning a good book into an amazing story.
I won't say anything about the plot because you have to listen to understand just what fun this book is. And the twist at the end, well. Lets just say I was hooked and downloaded the rest of the series.

Totally Enthralled and gagging for the next one!
As an opener for a series, this book has it all. It made me laugh, it had me angry in parts and it definatly makes me want to listen to the next one. I don't want to give too much of the plot away but it's a great love story with two fantastic MC's, each with their own vulnerabilities.
Gary Furlong's narration is fab, not sure if he's English doing Scottish or Scottish doing English! Either way, his accents are great and to me, very believable. I always feel it's true testament to a great narrator when you're not sure which is his real accent.
Without a doubt, I'm straight off to get the next one. I'm hooked.......

Enjoyable first book
Declan and Sam are joint Best Men at their respective brother and sisters wedding at the fairy tale castle on the backs of Loch Ness.
Sam is out and proud, English and just returned from working abroad for his father, whilst Declan is a single straight, grumpy Scotsman, who works for Sam's father in his London office.
Within days Declan discovers a chemistry and attraction with the younger man which is reciprocated and the next 5 days a relationship blossoms until....
Gary Furlong does a great job narrating and his English and Scottish accents are clear and concise.

First off, Gary Furlong is amazing! it's so great to hear such excellent accents and such a lot of passion and humour.
the book is sweet and funny, hot and heartbreaking and the twist ... wow.
it's a serial rather than a series, but still a HEA. can't wait to listen to the rest of the series.

My name's Bond, Shatterproof Bond
What do Scotsmen wear under their kilts? Most of this book is taken up with finding out. After The Shooting Party and The Gentleman's Thief, where the tale happily interlaces life with love, I was expecting more of an actual plot. One reason I enjoy MM books, is they are generally more intelligent, lack silly shenanigans and insta-love found in chic lit. Sadly all this was here.
The narration is excellent, but the scot's voice evoked the picture on the front of a box of porridge oats. and just as stodgy.
DISAPPOINTING

steamy MM with a twist of suspense
I enjoyed this first book I've read by Isobel Starling. I love MM and this was certainly a hot, steamy read. I liked both characters Sam and Declan. Declan was straight but I loved the way that although he was confused at his strange new attraction to Sam, he didnt dwell on it too much and was open minded that once he accepted his feelings, he went all in with it.
There is obviously a lot more to come with this new relationship and the twist at the end regarding Sam's secrets. I'd definitely like to carry on and find out more.
I listened to audio version, the narrator was good, although sometimes, if I'm being really picky, I would have liked a bit more expression with the English accent, because the Scottish one was wonderful!
