Summary

Welcome to small-town romance - with heat! Introducing the Finding Love in Green Springs series, a collaboration between J.B. Havens and CA Miconi. The first book, Be Brave with Me, is set in the small Southern town of Green Springs, Mississippi, where the days are hot and the nights are hotter!

Meg

Meg always thought she was strong until tragedy struck - twice. Now she's alone in the world. For six months, she's been running from her demons, never staying in one place for long, until she lands in Green Springs, Mississippi.

Drew

Drew was the golden boy of Green Springs, destined for football greatness. After a tragic accident, it all went to hell in an instant, forever changing his life. He clawed his way out of a pit of despair and settled into a comfortable but lonely life. Sparks fly when Meg comes rolling into town. Immediately, he recognizes the pain hiding behind her brash exterior.

Drew wants to help her heal. Meg wants to flee to continue searching for peace. Is she brave enough to stay? Is he brave enough to let her go?

Green Springs is the place to be!

New authors to me, CA Miconi an JB Havens have my heart. This first book in their Finding Love in Green Springs series has all the feels! Meg is on a journey. She has lost the love of her life, and as tragedy strikes her, she needs to find her new normal. Letting go is hard. Drew also has had his share of devastation. Once the popular football player, he now has acclimated to his new way of life. When he meets Meg, both find that wonderful feeling. But can they get past their baggage to find happiness? I absolutely love these characters. I found both to be very true to life. And Drew's grandmother is a hoot!! It's got all the emotional tugs that will make our heart hurt and soar. A great story and I will be watching for book 2!

The narration of Tyler Darby and Tara Langella could not have been cast better. These two found the essence of their characters and truly gave us their story. Their voices compliment each other. I enjoyed their narration and hope to see more from this team.

Second chance for happiness

I more than enjoyed this book. They have both suffered from the ultimate heartbreak of loss. They are able to understand each other and have an awesome connection. I love all the characters. Narration was great. His narration sounded like the equipment wasn’t as up to date but I loved both of their voices. I definitely recommend this book.

Sweet and sexy read

Meg and Drew were so perfect, especially because they weren't perfect at all! They were flawed and broken and sad and it hit me in the gut.. HARD!

Meg has baggage and she is running away from all the bad emotions she is not wanting to face. She isn't ready to face her demons and accept life the way it is.

Drew is trying to make the best of his life, he is still struggling with his demons daily and he isn't always doing a good job of dealing with them but he is doing his best.. Then Meg shows up and rocks the figurative boat and all hell breaks loose.. things get muddy and rough, but there is something there. Can they make it work though? Is Meg willing to stay and cancel her dreams or will she leave him?

These two have such a sweet and sexy dynamic, it is refreshing when you learn their flaws, and even more so that neither seems to care about the others flaws, it's like they can see right past them. Neither of them are bothered by the others flaw and it is amazing to see. It's sweet when they both are shocked that the other sees past their flaws.

The narrators did a really great job with the emotions and love, but when Tyler Darby's parts came on it had a strange echo sound that kind of threw me off but it was still a wonderfully entertaining book. I just wish his voice would've been a little clearer.

Good Story, great narration

This was a sweet story, fast paced, drama free, and sweet. The chemistry between Meg and Drew was really great, I mean, after their first encounter that's it... Lol
They both have been marked by a tragedy in their lives, but Meg is still finding her way out of it, and her mixed feelings might be getting in her way of a HEA.

Second chances

I really love second chances. While Drew and Meg have serious heartbreaking pasts, it’s wonderful they find comfort in the knowledge that they can be themselves with one another. In each of their pasts each have dealt with so much that forms where they are currently in life, each have lost so much and serendipity has brought them together. Yet Meg still has to find herself even after being swept away by a budding romance with Drew and leaves to continue finding ways of dealing with her past in the way she must. It’s admirable how Drew understands Meg’s need to finalize her journey dealing with loss. They find one another again when Meg finds peace and returns hoping to see Drew again . Wonderful heart healing book. Really enjoyed the performance by Tara Langella and Tyler Darby, both are new narrators for me. Both were well matched to the characters. A fun low angst story of how love prevails.

A second chance at life!

Meg suffered a huge loss. She decides to pack up and travel with a specific route. She makes a stop in a town where she meets Drew. It was kind of hate at first sight. She was so rude but Drew is a sweetheart and a gentleman. They have great chemistry and seem to heal their own wounds as they journey to love. Good narration both new to me narrators.

Small Town Romance

Be Brave With Me by J.B. Havens and CA Miconi is a small town romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Tara Langella and Tyler Darby. This is the first book in the Finding Love In Green Springs series.

This is the first book of J.B and CA’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the relationship between Meg and Drew. I can’t wait for the next book in the series Be One With Me to be released on audible so I can get Sally and Nolan’s story.

Tara and Tyler did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you love small town romances.

Marvellous!!

Be Brave with Me is a beautifully written small-town romance and a marvellous collaboration between two talented authors, CA Miconi and J.B. Havens. The book was my first listen by both authors, so I went into this book completely blind. Right from the start, my attention was thoroughly captured by an amazing plot and character development. The storyline was wholly engaging and captivating. Meg and Drew were incredibly authentic, and their emotions, connection, and reactions to situations were realistic and natural. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for the next installment.

Tyler Darby and Tara Langella did an outstanding job capturing and portraying the characters. They breathed life into the words and the characters, making the story more enjoyable. The audiobook was a fantastic listen, one I'll strongly recommend.

Be Brave with Me

Getting past heartbreaking and life changing situations would be hard to do, but these two try their hardest to do just that. With the help of each other and the growing emotions between them, a happy ending is finally found. I really liked this book and love that I found new authors as well as new to me narrators to listen to in the future.

Quite good story

First of all I liked the overall story of the book and the characteristics of both the main characters. It was a strange concept for me to have the heroine's POV written in first person and the hero's POV in third person narrative. I'm not sure I have encountered such desing ever before. I took some time getting used to and I'm still not sure I liked it. I don't know what the authors' idea behind it was but for me it made Drew's POV more impersonal, like the limelight was focused on Meg, like he was just a secondary character in his own story. It was a bit underserved as though I found Drew's personality just as interesting as Meg's. I liked Meg's character. I liked her frankness even though she stood out as a sore thumb in Green Springs with her harsh and straightforward attitude. I liked her journey, the way she found and rebuilt herself again. Drew was her perfect match with his deep understanding of loss and quiet patience. I liked their chemistry. All in all a good story.

Tara Langella's narration was absolutely superb. She was spot on. I loved the voices she used and the occasional southern drawl. She acted out every laugh, every chuckle and sigh according to the manuscript and I loved it. The quality of her parts was absolutely perfect. Listening to her was pure enjoyment.
Though I liked the voice of Tyler Darby I had problems with his narration. His vocal performance wasn’t as good and his recording was also lacking in terms of quality especially compared to the spotlessness of Tara's parts. It felt like as it was at least 40 years difference qualitywise between the two recordings, it sounded like the narrator was speaking from a box. All the way through there was constant static and occasional background noises. Not just poor quality but fluctuating as well, as sometimes it suddenly changed for the better but after a few sentences it went back down again.
Perhaps these things shouldn’t have been worth mentioning but they were magnified by the significantly better recording quality and vocal performance of Tara Langella. This difference in quality between the two narrators' parts was rather disturbing.
