Awfully good :)

This is what "Beautiful Ugly" is like. It's gripping, addictive, very mysterious, and awfully good :) I couldn't stop listening, and when I finally stopped to get back to my duties, I couldn't stop thinking about what would happen next. I wanted to get back to the "Edge" as soon as possible, get back to Grady and his faithful companion Columbo, back to Abby...
I probably don't need to mention how wonderful it is to hear this novel read by Richard Armitage and Tuppence Middleton, but I will mention it in case you still have any doubts about the greatness of this work of art :)
I recommend it with all my heart!!!
Thank you Alice for taking me on this amazing journey :)

Bizarre

Easy to get into, and wanted to continue listening to the story whenever I had chance, as I foolishly believed that the ridiculous plot would start to become more believable, but it didn’t. Finished the book feeling disappointed.

I did not see the ending coming

This book held my attention. I listened to it everytime and everywhere. And the ending, wow! This is my first book of hers and I look forward to reading the rest.

Disappointed

I like the genre. I expected more. I As a Scot myself, I thought the remote Scottish Island setting would interest me, however, I never got a sense of its ‘Scottishness’. I am a fan of Richard Armitage as a narrator, however, wasn’t keen on his Scottish accent for the women on the island. I didn’t think Amberley was a particularly good name for a Scottish island. The pace of the novel was quite slow. I felt the twists and turns were at the end. Characters not particularly believable. I did however read to the end and was surprised by the conclusion. I much prefer other novels by Alice Feeney. I’d rate it 3/5 stars.

Great book and loved the narrator’s!

I honestly didn’t see the twist and the ending was great! I was planning on listening at normal speed but had to step it up because i really wanted to see how it all played out.

So many twists!

I was totally hooked by the end. Just when I thought I had it figured out, something else changed. Sometimes it felt like there was a little too much packed into it and I wanted to know more and for it to slow down a bit. But I will be definitely listening to more! Brilliantly read by the narrators.

Gripping

I listened to Beautiful Ugly, and the narration by Richard Armitage and Tuppence Middleton was outstanding. Their performances added depth to an already gripping story, making it even more immersive.

This book is everything you want in a psychological thriller—dark, addictive, and full of suspense. Alice Feeney masterfully weaves a story packed with twists and turns, keeping you guessing until the very end. Just when I thought I had figured it out, another revelation turned everything upside down.

I couldn’t put it down—it’s the kind of book that keeps you up late, desperate to know what happens next. If you love unpredictable thrillers that keep you on edge, I highly recommend Beautiful Ugly!

Started well. Silly ending.

The narrator read almost the whole thing like he was on the verge of tears. Weird.
