About this listen
Nothing will distract Isla Flores from her Paralympic goals.
Her world is work and training, nothing else matters. When her coach and best friend Duncan challenges her to make a 10-item bucket list, she's forced to think about life off the track.
The more time she spends with Duncan, the more value she sees in everyday life...and love.
Duncan Schmitz went from homelessness to his dream job as a youth pastor.
The only problem is that he's loved Isla from afar for as long as he can remember. He's taken it upon himself to remind her what life is like off the track. And maybe also remind her he's not just her coach, but the one who's cared about her the longest.
Get this sweet, heart-warming, friends-to-lovers romance by best-selling author Kari Trumbo that sounds like a Hallmark movie.

Sweet friends who want more
This was a short and sweet friends to romance story with a Christian thread, this was sensitively done and not overly religious. I loved Duncan he was so patient, kind and understanding of everything Isla was going through. Isla changed and learns things abut herself through the story, it felt like these things had a message for the listener as well. There was a lovely character development and the story was kept moving with the list of things that Isla always wanted to do. The narration was good and clear but as a story written in the third person there wasn't much opportunity for changes in tone so it felt a little monotone at points. If you enjoy a sweet developing romance with a Christian/moral theme then you will love this story!

Sweet love story
I was given a free code for this audiobook from the author. I was engaged in story of this family from the start. Predictable love story as the couple developed emotionally but interesting how Duncan looked for ways to help Esla understand she was worth more than what place she achieved racing. I enjoyed the involvement of loving wise family members and friends. Wish I could know them myself!
I would be interested in next instalment as seems a shame to leave story at the proposal stage!
Looking forward to spending time in the car so I could listen to next bit.

A sweet story
A sweet story - Narration would have been better a little slower - it started out really fast but slowed down later in the story.
Narration would have been a little better with more emotion - it came out a little flat, but that is really picking at straws.

friendship first
Can Isla and Duncan realise they are meant for each other? He is best friend and coach. She thinks making to the Paralympic Games is the most important thing. Can Duncan make her believe been first in a wheelchair race is not her happiness but enjoying life again? A sweet love story. Great audiobook
